SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Police say they want to talk to the individuals seen in a gold or tan colored vehicle just a short time before the baby was discovered.
Now known as Baby Jane Doe, Police say the hour-old infant was found under some brush in a vacant lot on Syracuse's southside on August 28th. After a 6-year-old girl discovered the baby, it was brought to Crouse Hospital, its umbilical cord still attached.
After hundreds of interviews, Syracuse Police Chief Gary Miguel says information about a sedan in the area just an hour before the baby was

discovered could give police answers they need. He says two people were in the vehicle, a driver and a female passenger, and that they both pulled into a driveway that had access to the vacant lot.
"It's a turnaround driveway in the back. Went into the driveway and then was observed exiting the driveway approximately five minutes after that. Now we don't know if this vehicle is involved in this investigation at all. I mean, it could be someone who has absolutely no involvement with it. It could possibly be a suspect vehicle. Or it could be a vehicle with occupants that know something or have seen something that would be helpful," Miguel said.
Miguel says those involved will face criminal charges. He believes, after visiting the site where the baby was found, that the baby was left in danger and not in a safe location as the Infant Protection Act suggests. The baby is still at Crouse Hospital recovering at this time.
