ROME, N.Y. -- Kids in Rome were out at Franklyn's Field for a youth bash. The party was put on by the Mohawk Valley Community Action Agency.
The theme was "Overcoming Challenges" so everyone who participated was tested on their ability to stick to their goals by taking on a number of fun challenges. There was also a "buckets of water" endurance challenge, a velcro wall and hula hoop contest.

"A lot of challenges that they deal with in this modern time. So we encourage them to kind of come together, letting them know they're not the only ones who have to go through their circumstances and there are other agencies within our community such as the ones represented today who can be of help to them," said Program Director Carmine Jadoo.
This was the first Mohawk Valley Community Action event in Rome.
